Top 7 Reasons to Drink More Water

Did you know, humans are made up of 60% water? We NEED water to survive, here are 7 reasons why you should be drinking more water!

  1. Improves brain function
    • Have you wanted to increase your productivity? Drink more water!
    • Your brain is mostly water and benefits from more water by increasing blood flow and oxygen to your brain. It also helps to balance your mood and emotions and improve concentration.
  2. Keeps skin hydrated and looking good
    • Want that baby soft skin? Do you tend to have acne problems? Drinking more water can help clear up and plump up your skin.
  3. Promotes weight loss
    • Drinking water can help you burn more calories by regulating your metabolism. If you find yourself hungry between meals, drink a glass of water before snacking to manage your cravings.
  4. Aids in digestion
    • Drinking more water moves things along, which is always a good thing. Flushes toxins out with it too! Ate something that isn’t sitting well with your stomach- drink water (I suggest adding some peppermint or ginger tea too)
  5. Helps boost energy
    • If you find yourself feeling tired and irritable, reach for a glass of water before that cup of coffee or energy drink.
  6. Improves performance and recovery
    • Being adequately hydrated helps reduce cramps and sprains during, and after, physical activity. We lose water from our body when we sweat but even if you aren’t working up a big sweat during your next workout, still reach for that water bottle and chug away. Add some electrolytes to your current water instead of reaching for a sugary sports drink. (There are so many options out there now)
  7. Reduce headaches
    • Headaches are often caused by dehydration- Reach for a glass of water instead of pills the next time you have a headache and see if it clears it up. Better yet, stay hydrated throughout the day to avoid the headache all together.

  • Eat more fruits and veggies; they are high in water content
  • Keep a bottle of water with you at all times and remember to drink it
